The Salesman

Forced to leave their apartment due to a dangerous construction project in a neighbouring building, a young Iranian couple moves to the centre of Tehran where they become embroiled in a life-altering situation.

Our July main feature is The Salesman – a meticulously plotted moral puzzle that, once again, shows how great art can transcend the deeply restrained culture it springs from. A thought-provoking relationship drama by Asghar Farhadi (who also directed  Oscar-winning feature A Separation) that lingers long after the credits roll.

“Asghar Farhadi builds a solid and suspenseful plot out of ordinary incidents, and packs it with rich and resonant ideas.” The New York Times.

“Tightly focused, rather than broad-gauge brilliant, and another instance of this superb filmmaker turning elusive motivations and the mysteries of personality into gripping drama.”
Wall Street Journal
