Yvonne Nguyen, a French-Vietnamese actress, dreams of a successful career, but her mother wants her to get a proper job. So when Yvonne has no choice but to move back home, the women are strangers to each other. But in the intimacy of the family restaurant’s kitchen they bond over cooking in a moving ritual of cultural inheritance, accompanied by the sound of clanking utensils and sizzling woks. However, with Yvonne chasing her dreams and finally getting a chance to audition for the big Paris show, the past is never far away…
