There are many brilliant things about film club, but we have two favourites. Firstly the magical moment when we all get the joke at the same time and secondly that silence when everyone is transported by the story and you could literally hear a pin drop.

I’m Your Man has many of these moments but because of the genre mix they are unexpected and compelling. Did we mention the genres? Sci-Fi meets Rom-Com. But please be reassured that this film is set very much in contemporary Berlin, there are no daft costumes, no flying cars and definitely no iPhone 27’s implanted in your head. As for the Rom-Com element, think Katherine Hepburn and Cary Grant or Some Like It Hot.

Synopsis: Alma, a scientist at the Pergamon Museum in Berlin is persuaded to participate in a study to get funding for her research. For three weeks, she must live with a humanoid robot designed to be the perfect life partner for her. We won’t say anymore cos it’ll spoil it…
